These guys don't sound bad at all, and would be a helluva lotta fun in a bar setting. The are not a "straight cover" band. Even though they are playing other people's tunes they are not attempting to copy them note for note. They put a fun spin on a few of the tunes. Hell yea I'd go to a bar to see them, and would catch their show at a festy as long as they weren't competing with a "headliner".

Thats not the Jim Miller from Donna The Buffalo is it?????? I dig this stuff, thanks for the post!!! It would seem as though SOME ( NOT ALL!!!)of us were the type of people who would down someone for making an OBVIOUSLY DEAD RELATED post. It seems odd that one would bitch about a post like this, I mean how many times have we all had the "best Dark Star" conversation ( HUNDREDS)I am glad to see something new even if it is the second or third time around.

Oh yeah, things are really new third time around...

If you look back (I know, why should you?) you'd see that I was pretty positive about the band but wanted to hear them turn their obvious talents to something original. Sam bonk, who as the band's drummer has a vested interest in promoting them, has not as yet addressed this point. Maybe they're just happy to ride on the Grateful Dead's coattails and be just another cover band. OK, good luck to them, but with ready access to the real thing, why should I bother? A couple of killer reappraisals of GD songs within the context of a solid setlist of their own material would be much more impressive.

I agree with Rob. The Grateful Dead spent thirty years playing the same songs over and over. That was cool though, because it was their thing, and it belongs to them forever.

But don't start a new band just to imitate that style, and on top of that with all the exact same songs...and on top of that, on the one website where anyone who wants to can hear all the hundreds of times the GD played all those same songs, as they were meant to be played...That's just lame. The Maykers guy was bad enough.

(I am starting to think that Sam Bonk and the Maykers promoter are actually one and the same troll, probably coming straight from the G.N.A.A. [do not attempt to learn anything about the gnaa, you will get a computer virus 99% guaranteed])

Anyway I guess we are all cursed to endure cover bands. But hey all you cover band players out there: you know you guys would feel better about yourselves if you wrote and played at least mostly your own songs. So I encourage you. Let this be your kick in the pants.

Gave Big RR a quick listen - these guys have a much better chance of getting 100 of my $ than those other guys. I like the way they seem to just be having fun with it and not trying any sort of faithful reproduction.

OK, Mr Bonk. How many times does this make that you've punted this band to us. Three? Four? More? It's certainly only been a week since the last time you brought them to our attention. I know (because you told us) that you're the group's drummer and you're understandably enthusiastic, but I'm beginning to get the sweet smell of spam in my nostrils. If you look back you'll see that I was initially positive about your band, but really wanted to hear them do more original material. I stand by that - feel free to promote your band some more when they have something new to offer.

Actually, I don't think you can do that anymore. I know that you used to be able to in CA, but I don't think so any longer. Now you have to be a graduate of an ABA accredited law school.

Either way, only an idiot or an asshole would want a lawyer that didn't go to law school.

As a pro se guy myself with a pretty decent success record, I digress. I was looking at possibly going to law school but I'd have to drive to Miami, fuck that. Plus the only aid I can get are subsidized stafford loans and I can only get 1200 per semester and I'll barely be able to cover the business degree and 75% of the books at that rate.

According to this it does look like things might have changed:

The beautiful thing is that I have no obligation to understand discovery, no ethical obligation to not file motions after opposing council announces they will be on vacation. No bar to complain to,etc.

I don't go out of my way to be a dick but when someone evil who has done me wrong lawyers up, I make sure their attorney gets tons of trivial and off the wall filings and things to answer and bill their client for, so in effect I help you guys out! I even had someone filing shit against themselves they got so mad and couldn't wait for attorney to get back in town. Hilarious.

Eventually they ditch the scumbag and let the truth be told. I move for change of venue, psych evals, motions to prove paternity, all kinds of neat stuff. I have delayed the paying of some tickets now for about 6 months and will baffle them at a pretrial hearing when I break down the statutues and file motions to dismess on all counts, this will be fun. I first cross examined a police officer when I was 18 last century and he couldn't tell me what time the sun set that day and what the weather conditions were, but knew I had a beer in my hand from 200 yards away, case dismissed.

I learned a lot that day and was studying to be a paralegal until I found out they do most the gruntwork and don't make shit, screw that! That aint my modus operandi...

The defence rests
